"Riley’s volume is a valuable addition to a literature that will be especially needed as the pandemic recedes"

Depression was a global scourge before the pandemic and greater public understanding of it is vital. There is a growing body of work giving reliable, scientifically grounded information about the nature of depression and its treatments (recent works include The Inflamed Mind by the Cambridge psychiatrist Edward Bullmore). Riley’s volume is a valuable addition to a literature that will be especially needed as the pandemic recedes.
