"My first special delivery of the month is this remarkable memoir by the indomitable 82-year-old Ismail"

My first special delivery of the month is this remarkable memoir by the indomitable 82-year-old Ismail, the first midwife in what was then the British Protectorate of Somaliland. She endured FGM (horrifically but necessarily described in the book), imprisonment, persecution and civil war to become a tireless campaigner for better healthcare, fighting for women's rights as First Minister of her country and through the World Health Organisation.
