"Dawkins’s B-sides are still worth listening to"

Yet Dawkins’s B-sides are still worth listening to. Yes, if you own all the albums already, a lot of it will be familiar. Still, it is worth hearing him talking with passion and eloquence about the gene’s-eye view of evolution, about the idea of evolution as a ratchet that creates complexity from simplicity. In particular, one essay taken from a Gifford lecture he gave in 2006, about how our brains create a simulation of the world, and how you can read the environment an animal lived in from its body and its genes, is fascinating.
