"a twisty, small-scale thriller that is immensely entertaining"

There’s a touch of Mick Herron’s Slough House ensemble to the gang, who initially seem utterly hopeless before slowly revealing hidden talents and depths. There’s dry humour too, as their initial plans go awry and secrets start to tumble out. Can there be honour among thieves? Scullion has worked in South America, and her depictions of Montevideo and Buenos Aires are convincing, even if the local heavies feel a little stereotypical.
