"it’s even wittier than the first, with dialogue that dances"

A subplot involving Lori’s search for an antiquarian book once belonging to her dead parents and the outing of a corrupt TV presenter and a fake friend is woven through the story beautifully as we learn more about Lori’s parents through a memory stick in a time capsule that Fang digs up in his new garden. Lori is a highly original narrator and Flynn is unafraid of dealing with knife crime and neglect in a book that still manages to be light on its feet and suitable for 8 to 12-year-olds. No small feat.
