"recounts eloquently the history of the Royal British Legion"

Michael Foreman’s illustrations, with their rare draughtsmanship and sweet faces, evoke the landscapes and soldiers, villagers and monuments, children and flowers, and an afterword by the former Bishop of Manchester recounts eloquently the history of the Royal British Legion (which receives £1 for every copy sold) and the poppy’s message of peace.

This is not just a storybook. It also includes a full copy of In Flanders Fields and a report about the symbolic poppy... Whether read for the enjoyment of a good story or to increase knowledge of a historical period, Poppy Field is a beautiful reminder of how thankful we should be for the bravery and sacrifice of previous generations
