"This is Forsyth at his spellbinding best."

The master of the modern espionage novel returns and, in his first book for five years, Forsyth has lost none of his storytelling finesse and geo-political grasp... This is Forsyth at his spellbinding best.

"closer to a fairy tale than a thriller"

What follows is closer to a fairy tale than a thriller, in which pesky problems posed for the west by Russia, Iran and North Korea are solved by this young hero with magical powers and his Dumbledore-like (and Smileyesque) minder. And too much of it isn’t fiction at all, with the perfunctory action and dialogue often merely punctuating Forsyth’s lengthy briefings on aspects of spying or enemy nations’ knavish tricks.
