In her new standalone novel Elizabeth Chadwick brings to life one of history's forgotten figures - the fearless Irish princess and unsung heroine Aoife MacMurchada - as she did with her bestselling Eleanor of Aquitaine trilogy.

"a fascinating account"

Diarmait’s invitation to the Normans to go to Ireland earned him a reputation with later generations of Irish as a traitor. In Chadwick’s tale he is a wild warrior, driven by vengeance. Aoife grows into a subtle politician who stands beside Richard as he seeks to push his influence beyond Wales and into Ireland. She plays her own game too, developing a relationship with the capricious King Henry. This is a fascinating account of Aoife’s life.
