A prescient tale of political satire set in a near future America by a master of the genre.

"Given the alternative facts and fake news swilling through social media at the moment, it’s hard to say what in this scenario feels particularly far-fetched"

First ladies have taken over control of the US government; they are dictators for life. Presidents are mere consorts, although the voting public might be disconcerted to learn that the incumbent, Rudi Kalbfleisch, is an android. But the forces of change are gathering. There are neo-fascists at the gate. And Neanderthals. And Doctor Egon Superb, the world’s last psychotherapist. And Richard Kongrosian, the celebrated telekinetic pianist whose body odour can kill. And all of them are nursing an idea about what’s really going on in this deepest of deep states. And all of them are wrong.
