Hedgehog and Tortoise were the best of friends. So the two friends wave to each other, blow kisses, sing songs, dance around and write letters. And even though they can't hug and they can't touch, they both know that they are loved. A gorgeous, uplifting, inspiring picture book that makes social distancing fun!

"It will be a big help (copies to one D Cummings, please) and an important historical record of the time"

So the best of pals wave, smile, make funny faces, laugh, return each other’s letters, dance together and blow kisses (across the fold of the book, which we can only presume is two metres in the real world). They vow they are friends “through rain and shine” and paint rainbows and write songs to prove it. This book must have been put together at great speed, but McLaughlin and Dunbar manage to stay one teaspoon shy of sickly sweet.
